what is the shortcut career academy?
The Shortcut Career Academy is a free 4-week program for job seekers from all backgrounds residing in Finland. It is an intensive career course that aims to increase your employability through a series of workshops, events, and group coaching sessions.
During the Career Academy, you will learn about identifying your strengths, branding yourself, networking, optimising your application documents and LinkedIn profile, and personal resilience, to name a few. You will also learn about Finnish working culture and relevant labour legislation. Additionally, networking opportunities are integrated into the curriculum.
what is the career academy schedule?
Each cohort of the Career Academy lasts 4 weeks and include different learning sessions. The sessions in each week will include workshops, group coaching, self-study and assignments, and will be held mostly online. Sessions run for two hours each: 10-12 and 13-15. We expect you to participate in the sessions and complete the assignments, in order to qualify for the Career Academy certificate.
The Career Academy will run up to five cohorts in 2025. The first cohort will launch on Monday, 24th March. The maximum number of participants per cohort is 30.

application process
Registration for the first Career Academy cohort is open from Tuesday, 18th February until end of Sunday, 2nd March. There will be no interviews, but we may contact you if we need further details. You will be informed by 12th March regarding the result of your application.
The first Career Academy cohort starts on Monday, 24th March.
Registration for the second Career Academy cohort opens on Wednesday, 23rd April. The second cohort will commence on Monday, 19th May.
A networking event for both cohorts together will be organised in week 24.
